Yass Valley (Coppabella)
There's money in those hills
Due to its steep terrain, the Yass Valley (Coppabella) wind farm has amongst the highest wind speeds in the Southern Tablelands, though being an exceptionally hilly site adds its own challenges. The project was designed and developed by Epuron as a green field project, from identification of the site, securing land, developing the site layouts and carrying out detailed site assessment through to completion of development approvals and grid connection approvals.
Epuron has completed the development and, following its sale to Goldwind Australia, the project is now being prepared for construction.
The Yass Valley Wind Farm, now known as the Coppabella Wind Farm, is to be located near the towns of Bookham and Binalong and approximately 30 km from Yass in NSW. The project was approved by the Planning Assessment Commission on 30 March 2016 for up to 284 MW of wind power.
Epuron was responsible for the development of the project from detailed site analysis, concept design, onsite wind monitoring, and submission of the Development Application and related Environmental Assessment.
