Battery system upgraded at Lake Nash

TKLN Lake Nash is pleased to announce that it has successfully upgraded the lead acid batteries that make up the Grid Stability System. The batteries are primarily used in the period of time it takes for the diesel generator to reach operating power after a cloud event causes the photovoltaic system to reduce its generation These upgraded batteries are predicted to have a long service life even in the harsh desert conditions thanks the previous installation of a CloudCAM which predicts when a cloud is going to shade the PV array and controls the PV output to ensure the most efficient balance of diesel generation, PV and power from the batteries.
